Founded in 2008IIT Roparis just 9 years old and it would take some time before the industry recognizes professionals who have graduated from there. NSITon the other hand, founded in 1983 has been an established institution for over 30 years now. Most of the alumni ofNSITare now at top positions in companies as well as pursuing Masters in top foreign institutions such asHarvard, MIT and many more. IIT. Have a brand value only if you are in the top 5 IIT. Else there are better institutions out there, especially NSIT as its a part of Delhi University. Placements:NSIT has stellar placements in tech, non-tech and core companies. We have people working in Texas Instruments, Google, Uber, Microsoft, BCG, McKinsey, Brain only to name a few. Don't have much about IIT-Ropar placements. Quality of faculty, Curriculum and academics:NSIT boasts of few of the top professors of the country likeProf. Raj Senani, Prof. Harish Parthasarthy only to name a few. Their LOR (Letter Of Recommendation) can literally take you places! As far as curriculum and academics considered Sits syllabus has recently been updated as per industry standards and also the academics are good. Classes are held regularly and also we have a 75% attendance criteria. Coding Culture:NSIT has an amazing coding environment. We have amazing coders, who make it to GSoCevery year. Also, some of them are ranked highly at sites like TopCoder and CodeChef. Peer Interactions:NSIT will give you an essence of actual college life. The seniors are extremely helpful and are always there to guide you along the way. Moreover, many seniors share their placements materials with many juniors to help them during placements. Sometimes, some of the close seniors may even provide you with a referral at their companies to land you an interview!

In my personal view, I would prefer NIIT university over all these universities, for the below mentioned reasons. One of the added bonus is that of the NIIT legacy, belonging to the IT background, NIIT proves to be a strong backbone for NU. It has been in the software development and IT for the past few decades. NU B Tech in Computer Science with emphasis on Digital Transformation Technologies, is mainly focused on building a strong foundation in mathematical and algorithmic concepts. It has a strong industry linkage to make students industry-ready. The course is well defined and well executed as well. Even if you didnt have computer background, its not that of an issue. One of the advantages and true to the core principles of the university is the strong industry linkage. Industry professionals will work as mentors along with the faculty giving the dual advantage of academic rigor and industry relevance to students. For the batch of 2017 the placement was 100% the highest domestic package was of 11 Lacs per annum (international was 47.95lakh per annum). And the average package was of 4.63 Lacs per annum. The eighth semester is used for an industry project which can be completed either at the industry site or in the campus under joint supervision of industry and faculty mentors. At the end of the programme, the successful candidates are hired by the industry partner. Currently the industry partner participating in this programme is IBM. Faculty in the B Tech Computer Science and Technology area at NIIT University are from well-known universities like Missouri University of Science and Technology, Roll, Missouri, USA, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA and University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, USA. The faculty comes with rich prior work experience in teaching, research, industry and the government. Their research has been published in several international journals and conference proceedings.
