NIFT Entrance Exam

National Institute of Fashion Technology commonly known as NIFT offers courses at two levels; undergraduate and postgraduate. UG courses offered at NIFT Bhopal are BDes Fashion Technology, BDes Textile Design and many more. Candidates aspiring to take admission in BDes need to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam followed by NIFT entrance exam counselling. As per the NIFT Bhopal cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for BDes in Fashion Design stood at 1960. The percentile score of 75% in the NIFT exam is a good score but final admission is dependent on various factors such as performance of candidates, number of available seats, previous year cutoff etc. 

NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

• Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
• Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs, and specialised workshops etc. NIFT Kannur offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs and addmission to these courses is based on marks scored in NIFT Entrance Exam. It offers BDes programme for a duration of four years in four specialisations. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam and the students are accepted on the basis of merit.As per the NIFT Kannur cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for B.Des ranged between 1084 and 3083 for the General All India category students. B.Des in Fashion Communication was considered the most competitive specialisation considering its last round closing rank. 

To secure admission in the B.FTech (Bachelor of Fashion Technology) programme at the National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata, a score of 75+ in the NIFT Entrance Exam is typically recommended. However, it's important to note that the actual cutoff score can vary depending on factors like the category of the candidate (general, reserved), the competition, and the specific year's admission requirements. Generally, a score of 62+ is a competitive range for general category candidates aiming for admission to any course at any NIFT campus. As admission cutoffs can fluctuate, it's advisable for candidates to stay updated with the official NIFT website for the most accurate and current information.
