Branch change is not easy, but can be possible. The branch changes are subjected to the availability of seats and high GPA i.e above 9.5. So this is possible.

PEC Chandigarh is better than NIT in terms of its name and the quality of exposure one gets. NIT has the attractive 'NIT' tag, but there is a good legacy with PEC and the advantage can be seen as it is connected more to the industry. Whereas, NIT KKR has not been able to carry its good name.

PEC has better scope in terms of career advantage or exposure. The name of PEC in the region is also popular. Of course, an NIT stands tall being an NIT - but when it comes to some things on the ground - NIT KKR hasn't been that reliable for some years.

Both are great colleges and branches, keep your interest and aptitude in mind before taking decision.

Stream matters more than college, go for what you feel is interesting to you. Still if you go to DTU, in case you get upgradation later on after first year, that will be best but that's quite risky. So my suggestion is to go for NIT, Kurukshetra.

Hey Khushi,
Looking at your merit, it seems unlikely that you would get any branch in NIT KURUKSHETRA. Moreover, you can try visiting the past year cutoffs of all the NIT's but to be true, with this rank and this category you would not get into a good branch at a good NIT. Nevertheless you must try giving one more attempt as there is a hell lot of scope of improvement in your rank, you never no, this rank 72647 may become 7264 in the next attempt and then you might be asking about dropping the dream of NIT instead working to get into an IIT.
