As per my opinion, if you want to try for private universities, except VIT vellore there are other great options available like GGSIPU, Delhi or Pune universty colleges and various others in Pune where you will get good environment, good exposure and good study culture, good campus placements too. So, dont go for either of them neither NITs of low level nor VIT because, although I am not much aware but campus placements might not be as you expect from a government engineering college and after all culture around you matters the most, which you will get in metro-cities like Delhi or Pune. Choose your branch and location wisely. Give first preference to branch and then college, its the most important thing.

I suggest CS.
After completing M.Sc in Computer Science, one can find lucrative career opportunities in government sector organisations like National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Project Executive, Junior Executive and Telecom TechnicalAssistant are some of the jobs which one can look for. Such candidates can also look for variety of job opportunities in companies like Oracle, Intel, Samsung, HCL, Dell etc. Those who are interested in software field can work as Software Validation Engineer, Software Developer etc. while candidateshaving expertise in hardware can work as HardwareDesign Engineer, Technical Support Engineer etc. Database Administrator, Web Developer and Android Developer are other jobs available in these companies.Job opportunities in Public SectorM.Sc graduates in Computer Science can join National Buildings Construction Corporation Limitedas Project Executive (Systems) and earn a salary inthe range of Rs. 12, 600/- to Rs. 32, 500/- per month.
