NIT Puducherry has seat reservations. The reservations are on the basis of the state of eligibility. 50% of seats are reserved for the home state candidates. The institute also has seat reservations for students belonging to various categories.
For the UG programmes, admissions are conducted through JEE (Main). The admission process for B.Tech courses is carried out through JoSAA counselling. In case there are any remaining vacant seats, they are filled through CSAB-Special Rounds.
