The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Karnataka, Surathkal provides a two-year full-time MBA programme. The PG course admission process is entrance-based. Applicants may apply if they have a valid CAT score. It is one of India's most esteemed institutions. The institute offers top-notch instruction thanks to its highly skilled teachers and outstanding academic offerings. At the end of the 2021–22 MBA placement drive, 76% of students were placed. Candidates are chosen for admission based on their CAT or MAT results, and then they participate in group discussions and individual interviews.

It's true that there is a spike in the cutoff rank of the NITK Surathkal in 2023. As the number of seat allocation has decreased and the priority of the college and the course to be opted has increased. And an another reason as in  the previous times there used to be separate exams for both IIT and NIT, but now. there is a joint allocation of seats for the IITs and NITs so as seat blocking has spiked the cutoff rank to gain the students with great knowledge.

NIT Surathkal is one of the best engineering institutes in the country. In 2023, NIRF has ranked it 12 under the 'Engineering' category. NIT Surathkal has increased its intake capacity due to various factors, but it has not impacted the quality of education and the placement opportunities offered at the institute. During the 2023 placements, NIT Surathkal witnessed a 93% placement rate for its BTech students. Further, the highest and average package offered to the BTech students stood at INR 54.75 LPA and INR 18.26 LPA, respectively.

Yes, it is a good institute for BTech. In 2022, as per media reports, the institute has recorded a placement rate of 93% for BTech. Moreover, the highest and average package offered in NITK BTech placement 2022 was INR 45.03 LPA and INR 23.03 LPA, respectively. The technology institute is ranked 10 as per the NIRF rankings among the top “Engineering” colleges in India.

The total tuition fee for M.Tech at NIT Surathkal ranges between INR 1.4 Lacs - INR 2.8 Lacs and for NIT Trichy it ranges between INR 1.4 Lacs - INR 3.6 lakh. As per NIRF 2023 rankings, NIT Surathkal was ranked 12th in the “Engineering” category and NIT Trichy is ranked 9th. Moreover, NIT Trichy M.Tech in Communication Systems course is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 genuine verified student while NIT Surathkal same course is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1 student at Shiksha.

Considering the NIRF ranking and fee, NIT Trichy emerges as a better option for the aspirants of M.Tech programme.
