Dear reader,
These schools are great, but LPU also has top-notch M.Tech programs in robotics, power systems, and VLSI design. LPU offers a solid alternative for advanced technical specialisation thanks to its industry-partnered labs and placement cell, which has regularly secured jobs for students in Fortune 500 organizations.

hi,
Among International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and National Institute of Technology Warangal, IIT Madras is generally considered the best overall because of its global reputation, research opportunities, campus culture, and excellent placements. If you have scored 28,551 rank in SC category in JEE Main, your chances of getting admission at NITs will be restricted to newer NITs or some specific branches, via CSAB special round or state quota, if any.
Based on 2024-2025 cutoff trends, here's the overview:
With this rank, you will not be able to get admission at a top NIT like NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, etc. for any coveted branch (CSE, ECE, etc.).
Only NITs to get will be NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, NIT Manipur, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Srinagar, NIT Uttarakhand, etc. – for Civil, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Production Engineering, etc.

With 91.9968 percentile in JEE Mains, you have higher chances of getting into branches such as Civil, Metallurgical, or Chemical at some NITs in South India. This could particularly happen during CSAB special rounds or if you have Home State (HS) quota. Branches like CSE at NIT Warangal or any NIT in South India generally require higher percentile.

MANIT M.Tech placements are excellent and match up well with other top NITs. While some colleges might have higher top salaries, MANIT offers very steady job opportunities. Many big companies visit the campus because of its central location in Bhopal. You get chances in both IT firms and core engineering companies. The alumni network also helps in finding good roles.

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.
Why?
- NITs/IIITs/GFTIs Cutoffs:
- Even for lower-demand branches (Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy), closing ranks are usually within 2–2.5 Lacs (General category).
- Your rank (≈ 4 lakh) is well beyond cutoff ranges.
- Special Rounds (CSAB): Sometimes cutoffs extend slightly, but not beyond ~3 Lacs rank.
Practical Options for You
- State Government Colleges:
- Apply through Rajasthan REAP, Maharashtra CAP, UPSEE, Odisha OJEE, etc.
- These offer CSE/IT/ECE seats at your rank.
- Private Universities:
- LNMIIT Jaip
