With 40% acceptance rate, NC State is quite hard to get into. The low acceptance rate demonstrates that the university is quite stringent when choosing applicants for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. They usually select students based on academic and non-academic criteria, which include the quality of secondary school records, standardized test results, academic GPA, application essays, extracurricular activities, and volunteer work.

Considering the university sits among the best in the US, it is no surprise that you would have to work hard to get in here. The university acceptance rate is 40%. Even though its low, if you have done well in your academics, you do have a genuine chance of admission.
