Considering the university sits among the best in the US, it is no surprise that you would have to work hard to get in here. The university acceptance rate is 40%. Even though its low, if you have done well in your academics, you do have a genuine chance of admission.

NC State expects a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and 3 from undergraduate and graduate applicants. Along with the GPA score, students must fulfill the basic eligibility and submit the required documents asked by the university. The university expects students to hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent for PG students and a high school completion proof from UG applicants. The basic requirements include official school/ college transcripts, English language requirements, letters of recommendation, standardized test scores, and more.

For first-year applicants, NC State University's acceptance rate is 41.7%, which can be rounded off to 42%. It is to be noted that the GPA statistics for first-year enrolled students are as follows:

  • Weighted GPA: 4.18 – 4.48
  • Unweighted GPA: 3.74 – 3.97

However, the university aims to give out admissions on a holistic admission policy. Considering the acceptance rate, NC State University is highly competitive. Of course, the primary importance for admission is given to the high school record but extra-curricular involvement, leadership, and many other factors are also considered.

To apply to NC State MEM course, the applicants are required to have the following:

  • An UG degree
  • The university also considers applicants from Science backgrounds, not just Engineering backgrounds. To succeed in most entry-level courses, the students should have some background in Mathematics and Statistics

  • English language proficiency score
