It is a nice institute for optometry.
Placements: The placements offered were varied, with options in both retail optical centers and clinical hospital settings, according to our different interests within the field. Even during internships, we had different placements, which really helped to explore different fields within optometry.
Infrastructure: An ample amount of space was provided in our department, which could accommodate enough people and different optometry instruments. There were different rooms for lectures, optometry clinic, etc. A total of three canteens were available in our institute, so if anyone wanted to stay in the hostel, they always had options.
Faculty: Teachers were very encouraging and motivating, always guided us and gave proper information. They always helped me and guided me in my specific interest in the field, which I wanted to pursue. It had never been that a teacher had only focused on one student, they have always paid attention to each and every student and always helped if someone needed help in a particular subject.
Other: Overall, I had a great experience, grew as a person, helped me to improve my soft skills, attitude, and self-confidence.

Very satisfied with seniors, as they help us a lot in almost everything.
Placements: In B.Sc. OTAT, 20 students got admission through interviews and based on scores in the 12th exam. The salary package offered is between 25000-35000 PM. Top recruiting companies are multi-specialty hospitals like Tata and Fortis where we get recruited. Internship is a part of our curriculum. In the 4th year, we might get placed in MGM Charitable Hospital as an intern. After completing the 4th year program, we shall work in OTS as operation theatre assistants, technologists, or anesthesia assistants.
Infrastructure: From the 3rd semester, we were posted to different departments like Oncology, Gynecology, Cardiac, etc. and we started learning the practical part too. During the 4th year, we don't need to buy any books, as there is a library equipped with many books for students and can easily borrow books. Hostels are not worth it, it's too expensive. Canteen facilities are good and loved by students.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified. There are surgeons, senior or junior residents, and even Ph.D. students and professionals who teach us. In the 1st year, students get the basic knowledge. From 2nd year, we get the practical knowledge that helps us be industry-ready. Exams are usually not so difficult if we study hard daily and are attentive in class.

Faculty: Teachers are really good and helpful. They always encourage students and try to make each student a better version of themselves. We have our postings at hospitals, which makes us industry-ready. Semester exams are quite tough but our teachers make it easy for us with the knowledge they provide us.

A:

Candidates seeking admission to BSc allied health sciences programme must meet the MGMIHS BSc eligibility criteria. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or have passed the equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination can get admission to the MGMIHS BSc course.

The institute also offers admission through the Lateral Entry mode for which candidates must have an undergraduate degree  Allied Health Sciences wherever corresponding Diploma courses are available in the concerned specialty.

Q:   Is Class 12 marks enough for admission to the BSc programme offered at MGMIHS?
A:

MGMIHS BSc admissions are both merit and entrance-based. BSc Nursing programme admissions are based on scores obtained by candidates in the Common Entrance Exam conducted by the MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGM CET). However, admission to the remaining BSc specialisations is based on marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for admission to the BSc Nursing programme offered at MGM Institute of Health Sciences.

Q:   What is the last date to apply for BSc admission at MGMIHS?
A:

MGMIHS BSc application forms 2024 are out on the Institute's official website. However, MGMIHS BSc deadline for filling up the application forms has not been announced yet by the Institute.

Q:   Are pursuing UG courses at MGM Institute of Health Sciences expensive?
A:

The MGM Institute of Health Sciences offers only 3 UG courses. The courses are MBBS, GNM, and B.Sc. The tuition fee range for UG courses is as follows:

  • B. Sc Courses: INR 2.87 Lakhs - 4.87 L
  • MBBS: INR 90 Lakhs - 2.02 Cr

There may be other charges than tuition fees, i.e., hostel fees and one-time payment. However, it may seem to be a little expensive, but this is a normal range of Medical Colleges in India.
