Hello Nibedita Biswas, for doing Ph.D. one needs to pass entrance exam or screening exam for Ph.D. prescribed by concerned University. Your marks at UG or PG level do not matter much. Some universities allow M.Phil candidates to take up Ph.D. without any entrance exam. You just need to seek advise from registrar of your intended university. Best wishes to you.

Admission is offered on the basis of interview. The interview may be supplemented with a written exam if needed. Candidates should have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE score to pursue Ph.D. in the field of engineering and technology.

As LPU alumni, I would say like to share experience of One of my friends did M.Tech in ECE with a specialisation in VLSI from LPU and now she is doing a Ph.D. in the same from LPU. To get admission, you should have a minimum of 55% marks in your master's degree in a relevant subject. After that, you have to qualify for the LPU NEST exam if you have not qualified for a national level test such as GATE UGC NET CSIR, GPAT etc. The entrance will have 70% weightage in selection. After that, you have to appear for an interview and qualify for the same and have 30% weightage for the final selection. You may avail of scholarships also on the b

Hello Jyoti, Final admission selection to Ph.D. will be based on performance on the entrance test (70% weight) and Interview (30% weight) subject to obtaining low marks in the Interview. Admission to the Ph.D. History course is based on an entrance exam followed by an interview conducted by various Universities. Students with UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), UGC NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE Master Fellowship holder or M graduates. Phil. Hope this helps!
Good Luck!
