Hello,

You are eligible for a UG degree in Ethics if you have completed your class 12th from a recognised board. Students from all streams can go for an Ethics course degree. It is not necessary to study Ethics or Philosophy in class 12th if you want to pursue it.

Most colleges have a minimum eligibility of at least 45% marks in 12th board exams. Additionally, colleges may give admission based on merit or through scores in entrance exams like CUET.

Harcourt Butler Technical University, or HBTU, is situated in Kanpur. Unfortunately, a Master of Arts programme is not available in Philosophy at the university. The focus of this university is mostly towards technical and professional courses in engineering, management, and applied sciences. Only limited offerings are available in postgraduate programs under the academic domains of humanities and social sciences; MBA is such a programme offered with opportunities for research in management and economics. The purpose of modern philosophy is to:

  1. Understand reality better.
  2. Explore how we know things.
  3. Contribute to scientific exploration.
  4. Discuss what's right and wrong.
  5. Think about how societies should be run.
  6. Critique cultural beliefs and norms.
  7. Answer personal questions about life and existence.

In short, modern philosophy helps us understand the world, think critically, and navigate ethical and existential dilemmas
