In order to be considered for admission to both undergraduate and graduate programs, students must take entrance tests. Presidency University in Kolakata offers PUBDET for undergraduate courses and PUMDET for graduate studies. There are no alternative options for admission other than the entrance exam results, as the university strictly enforces them.

In my opinion both the institutions are good in there own way . 

Yes the IISER is good as presidency University Kolkata because IIISER is institutes are allowing the master projects outside the country and it is the best opportunity for the students to explore the Science field around the world . At the same time IISER is the one of the topmost  research institute in Indian if you want to pursue your degree in research field . 

But don't take the institute depends on the name of the institutes because the job opportunities are based on the degree certificate not on the name of the institute. But it's okay to overview about

No, in order to get admission for BA at Presidency University, Kolkata the student have to pass PUBDET entrance exam. Candidates can choose the exam centre the nearest to them. However, candidates are advised that once the application form is submitted, the candidate can not change their exam centre so be careful.The allocation of the PUBDET exam centres was based on the choices gave by the candidate during the online form fill up. However, the centre mentioned will be final and no changes will be made. No request for change of allocated centre will be entertained under normal circumstances.
