The application forms for various courses offered by Ranchi University usually come out in the official portal of the University. The dates concerning the release of application forms depends on the courses preferred. For any all India entrance exam based course, the forms are out generally after 3-4 weeks after the exam completetion. For other courses for which University conducts merit and entrance exams, the notification regarding it is sent 1-2 months beforehand in the official portal of the University. Candidates should regularly keep tabs on the official site to remain updated with the concerned dates.

No, candidates cannot join Ranchi University directly. It's only after fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the particular course they can get admission in to this university. Most courses are entrance based and hence, this will require the candidate to appear in that particular exam. Admission will be based on the cut-off margins of the scores obtained in the exam. The candidates are required to then submit application forms into the official portal of the University along with the exam scores. The seats are then alloted according to these applications and score evaluation.

Ranchi University offers both UG and PG courses and admission into these courses maybe entrance or merit based. Skill based courses like MBBS/BDS require NEET-UG scores and B.Tech requires JEE-Main or JCECE scores. M.Tech requires GATE scores followed by CCMT counselling. MBA requires CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA scores. Courses like B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing, LLB take admissions based on merits of previous qualifying exams. Admissions towards B.Ed courses are done by University conducted entrance exams. All other basic sciences and humanities courses, both UG and PG require CUET UG and CUET PG scores respectively.

The number of students placed through the campus interviews is increasing year by year.

Yes, IIM Ranchi is a good institute. It is ranked 24 among the top Management colleges in India by NIRF 2023. IIM Ranchi is also renowned for its IPM (Integrated Programme in Management), which is an integrated 5-year programme that comprises IIM1 and MBA. Students after Class 12 can join the IPM by appearing for the IPMAT examination. IIM Ranchi offers good placements. As per the recent placement statistics, the highest international and domestic packages offered during IIM Ranchi MBA placements 2023 stood at INR 67.00 LPA and INR 35.50 LPA, respectively.

Yes, Ranchi University offers scholarships to two eligible students living below the poverty line, and two scholarships worth Rs 500 to two meritorious students below the poverty line in each PG department in every academic session. Apart from this, five chosen students below the poverty line in every constituent college are offered a complete freeship in each self-financing course.

The duration of all UG programmes offered at Ranchi University ranges from three to four years, depending upon the nature of their course curriculum. On the other hand, PG programmes are offered for a duration of two years. For example, B.A. (Hons) is a course of 3 years, B.Tech is for 4 years, Bachelor of Business Administration is for 3 years, and Master of Business Administration is for 2 years.

Yes, Ranchi University has fully functional units of NSS and NCC in its colleges. The University also promotes sports and physical fitness by organising inter-university tournaments. Youth festivals are also regularly held at the college and university level. Ranchi University was declared the Best Sports Promoting University by the Jharkhand Olympic Association.
