Since 1924, San Jose State University (SJSU) has been part of nearly all Summer Olympic Games. San Jose State University athletes are commonly called Spartans. In the Olympics, San Jose State University students have won 7 Gold medals, 7 Silver medals, and 6 Bronze medals till now. Spartans have represented the United States in many Olympic games around the world.

Established in 1857, San Jose State University is the oldest public university on the West Coast. The university has produced more than 300,000 alumni till now. SJSU alumni have made a huge impact on the world stage. Some of the most notable alumni are Ben Nighthorse Campbell (politician), Dick Vermeil (American football coach), Stevie Nick (American singer), Jan Koum (Co-founder of WhatsApp) and Coby Bell (American actor).

In order to serve all the needs related to students’ career search and internship requirements, the university has set up a centralized ‘SJSU Career Centre’. It work towards roping in employment opportunities, empowering over 35,000 graduates and undergraduates, faculty, and prospective employers. The centre is run by 17 professional team members who organize workshops and discussions related to career development, employment, career knowledge, coaching, and internships. Almost 42% of newly graduates from College of Business found jobs through SJSU Handshake, career/internship camps, and on-campus interviews. SJSU is an online database for jobs which can be used by alumni, employers, and present iSchool students for free.
As per the available data, the accounting domain holds the highest intake percentage when we talk of employability at 97%. This is followed by Internet & Software, Electronic & Computer Hardware and Internet and Software. Healthcare industry witnessed the least overall intake.
