Hello Modhi,
The future placements cannot be predicted but the placements will surely improve every year as we could see the development now.
Sastra University is having good placements for CSE, IT, etc. as many companies related to IT comes a lot. For core subjects like mechanical, ECE, EEE, etc., the placements are not equal to CS but you can get some core companies.
You need to be very talented and skilled to get placed in such core companies as they won't recruit in huge numbers like IT companies.

Hello Shahid,
Your chances are really high to get ECE with 98.1% in board exam and 116 in JEE Mains. The tuition fee structure is 55,000/- per semester and the hostel fees will be around 10000-15000/- per annum and mess fee will be a maximum of 10000/- only.
So for a year, the overall fees will be 1,50,000-1,80,000 INR only.

Hello Praneeth,
I think you have missed an opportunity of getting a seat as it is not possible to attend the counselling again or even if you attend, you can avail only the seats available at that time.
So you may contact the admin for more details. Right now, there are no seats left, I think so.

Hello!
SASTRA University is ranked the first among various private engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu. It's known for it's transparency and purely merit based academic system. Education is top notch and is of the main concern and the exposure is brilliant in terms of both academics and non academic fields through various research and development programs.
All the best.

You'll get into SASTRA. But no one can be sure if you'll get the desired seat for your marks. It always keeps changing.
I suggest you take up any course and then slide to ECE after the end of one year.

Hello,
One should keep in mind that the All India rank matters when it comes to getting the required course.
Even if you don't get the required seat you can choose any course in the beginning and then slide to civil after the end of one year if you have a GPA of 9.

Hello,
Of course he is eligible, but it's uncertain if you'll get the asked for course. You can always select a course and then slide to the desired course after the end of the first year if you have a +9 GPA.

Both these institutions are highly reputed in India. So you can pursue it from any of these. The only thing is SASTRA University has more fees as it is a deemed university. So if you can afford it then it is better.
For Anna University your board examination marks are enough but for SASTRA your JEE marks will also be considered (if appeared only).

Hi,
Admission into Sastra University is based on your JEE and your 12th board marks combined.
A merit list based on the combination of the both the mentioned marks. If your AIR is anywhere between 500 to 800, you'll be able to get into the mechanical branch.
All the best!

Hi, that is an impressive rank! You'll get seat in both the courses with your rank. But choosing your branch should be based on your interests. If you are into how millions of megabits of data is transmitted across the world and if you want to know how your calls are getting connected to someone on the other side of the globe, ECE is your forte. If you want to learn about heat engines, working of a motor engine and stuff like that, mechanical engineering is your cup of tea.
Remember to always choose your branch out of your interests and not based on other things like placements and stuff.
All the best!
