Hi,
Some colleges require it. The tests aren't necessarily optional. Some colleges require or recommend at least one SAT subject test as the part of the application or for course placement. And, of course, if a college recommends them, then you know other applicants are taking them.

SAT is an aptitude test for admission into Bachelor's degree programs in US mainly. It includes topics you have studied in your high school and will mainly test reading and maths skills. IELTS is the test for English language proficiency. Check college board. Org for SAT details, you have to create your account here and select the test dates, etc. It is simple and instructions are available. For IELTS check IELTS. Org and create your account there.

Hello,
The subjects for which calculator is allowed are Mathematics Level 1 and Mathematics Level 2. You must put it away when not taking a mathematics test. A scientific or graphing calculator is necessary for these tests. We recommend using a graphing calculator rather than a scientific calculator.

Hi Kaushik, SAT is required by American universities majorly. There are many countries you can check like UK, Australia, New Zealand etc. Where SAT is not required. It will be overall difficult to find good universities not asking for any test. Tests like TOEFL or IELTS must be taken. On top of that you are also looking for 100% scholarship which is again very difficult. If you are a very bright student you may get scholarship but for this you must have good marks and if required you must appear for some or the other tests.
