Only the Phase III interview and the Phase II major test, or the group exercises and interviews, are used to make the final selection of candidates. The final merit list for selection does not include the scores from the preliminary examination. The points that applicants received on the main exam (out of 250) are converted to 75 points, and the points they received on the interview (out of 50 points) are converted to 25 points. The converted marks out of 100 are added together to get the final merit list. The candidates that rank the highest in each category are chosen.
