Private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh primarily use AP EAPCET (formerly EAMCET) as the main state-level entrance exam for most private college admissions, with better ranks leading to lower fees and scholarship eligibility.
JEE Main scores are also accepted by colleges like KL University, VIT-AP, and SRM AP, where higher JEE percentiles can unlock merit scholarships of 25–100% tuition waiver. Colleges like VIT-AP conduct their own exam VITEEE, and SRM uses SRMJEEE for admission and internal scholarship slabs.

The scholarship slab system at private engineering colleges in Karnataka works on the better your rank, the lower your fees. There are 3 fee levels to begin with: KCET students pay the least, COMEDK students pay more, and Management quota students pay the most. On top of this, top colleges like RVCE, BMSCE, and MSRIT offer merit scholarships to COMEDK top-rankers (usually under rank 500), covering 25% to 100% of tuition fees, renewed every year based on academic performance.
