2- The responsibilities you will be holding will be far lesser than most of the Indian Engineering Service officers do for the same salary or better salary.
3- you may maintain a Greater work-life balance. You may spend more time with your family members. At least in most cases.
4- There is organizational PRIS (20 percent basic) and individual PRIS. Not present in Indian Engineering Service.
5- There are no transfers and stable postings unless you ask for them. PROS of Indian Engineering Service:
1- The social status and respect of an Indian Engineering Service officer are unmatched by a Science/engineer in the Indian Space Research organisation. You may get a vehicle that you can not dream of in at least 25 years of service in the Indian Space Research organisation.
2- There are no interviews for promotions and it is time-based that is salary won't get affected. Trust me I have seen who got dropped/delayed promotion since it is performance based in the Indian Space Research organisation.
3- You can move to other ministries/departments on a deputation basis which is not possible in the Indian Space Research organisation. You will stick in the same department for most of your career even if you don't like it in the Indian Space Research organisation. Apart from all these, you can always become great through dedication and hard work in both Indian Engineering Service and Indian Space Research organisation.
