The admission process for MSc courses at Jai Hind College and Somaiya Vidyavihar University is almost the same for both of the institutes. For admission, the institutes release the merit of selected students on the basis of their scores achieved in their BSc degrees. Moreover, there is one major difference between both of the institutes, i.e., Jai Hind College accepts the scores of some entrance examinations for admissions to some of the MSc specialisations. However, SVU Mumbai only offers admissions to MSc courses based on merit.

The selection criteria for admissions to MSc courses at Somaiya Vidyavihar University is based on candidates' achieved scores in their graduation- BSc/ BE/ BTech degree. Moreover, applicants will be considered eligible for Interim Admission if they have successfully completed their semester fifth final examination with no pending KTs.
