Yes, international applicants at the UG level can apply via Common App. Enter the particular questions in the application and submit the documents as required. Brown University application fee is USD 80 (Around INR 6,900). To apply, the applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • Academic transcript
  •  TOEFL or any other equivalent test score
  • Letters of reference
  • Financial documents
  • Any other document (as required)
  • Mid-year school report
  • Two teacher recommendations
  • Final school report and transcript
  • SAT / ACT score

A TOEFL score of 105 on iBT / IELTS with 8.0 / Duolingo with 130 / PTE score of 75 is accepted.

The Brown Bears compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics in the NCAA Division I. The student-athletes compete on 34 varsity sports and 37 clubs sports teams. A few of the men's sports are Basketball, Baseball, Ice Hockey, Tennis, Wrestling, etc. Additionally, a few of the women's sports at this university are Basketball, Fencing, Soccer, Tennis, Rugby, etc. Being a member of the Ivy League, this university does not award athletic scholarships.

Brown Indian Students' Association is a student community that celebrates a rich culture of India through food, festivals, dance, and discussion. ISA fosters community, connections and cultural exchange by creating spaces to explore Indian history, traditions, and contemporary issues. So, students can take part in Holi and Diwali celebrations. They can also take part in cultural nights and movie screenings. Additionally, there is one South Asian Students Organization that welcomes members of Brown University who are of South Asian heritage.

International UG applicants at Brown University can apply via Common App. Students must complete the Secondary School education for admission to UG courses. On the other hand, for admission to PG courses, the applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, an English language proficiency score has to be submitted too. From Fall 2025, Brown University has planned to become need-blind for all Undergraduate international students. This move is a part of the ongoing commitment to admit students irrespective of their ability to pay for tuition, and to ensure the sustainability of financial aid initiatives for future generations. Brown University meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need of the students. This university does not offer merit-based scholarships. However, students can avail any external-based scholarships.

MSc in Data Science course at Brown Uni is a STEM program for OPT extension purpose. This OPT STEM extension allows students who have completed a degree in a STEM programme field to extend their work authorization for an additional of 24-months, and a total of 36-months, and gain further practical experience. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to apply to this course. The course is competitive, as this university receive 700-800 applications each year and aims for a cohort of 40-45 students.
