Master of Science (S.M.) degree is coursework (non-research) based degree. It includes no thesis,  foreign language or general examination. Admission into terminal S.M. is offered in 2 areas: Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) and Data Science. S.M. in Data Science is a one and a half year (3 terms) degree.

Students are allowed to apply to a SEAS master's programme in Data Science if they already have a master's degree from another institution in a different subject area. But before applying for the course, students must check all the eligibility criteria required to enter the program.

All the international students are required to submit transcripts in English language or have certified English translation. International transcript include- courses, seminars, exams, grades, etc., which should be totally in English language.

No,  PhD is not available for Data Science course. The Data Science course is only offered as Master of Science (S.M.) under School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. PhD degree under SEAS is available for Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.

The tuition fee for LLM at Humboldt Uni of Berlin is EUR 15,000 (EURO 7,500 per semester). Also, for this coursey, partial or full tuition waivers are granted. In addition to the tuition fee, the students are required to pay a Student Union fee which is of around EUR 355 per semester.
