No, for most of the Master of Arts programs at NYU, the prior research, professional experience or internships are not really required. Although, these are highly recommended for Indian students to make their application stronger.

The given NYU admission requirements are important though -

  • A four-year UG degree
  • Academic transcripts
  • Statement of purpose
  • Letters of recommendation
  • English language proficiency

Visiting Indian from Singapore is usually very easy during semester breaks. IT takes only 4 to 6 hours via flight to come back to India. Students need to carry the below documents to come back to India:

  • e-Arrival card
  • Passport
  • Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
  • Proof of return on onward travel

Several flights operate from Singapore Changi Airport to major Indian cities (Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, & Bengaluru).

Indian students will have to pay back the total grant amount plus interest (10% per annum in several cases). The 2 required sureties submitted will be held responsible for the repayment of the same.

This can also cause difficulties in obtaining future entry or work visa in Singapore.

The 3-year work bond is tied to the MOE Tuition Grant. Indian students who accept the grant have to sign a 3-year work bond to spend the first 3 years of their careers at a Singapore-registered company, after graduation.

Most Indian students accept the grant as a 3-year career in Singapore compensates them enough financially.

Living on-campus is better for Indian students at Nanyang Uni Singapore. It is more affordable (INR 29 K to INR 65.3 K per month), takes less time to reach classes or campus amenities like gyms and study rooms. It is also easier to socialise with peers.

Off-campus living is better for students looking for better privacy and less strict rules. However, it is more expensive (INR 51 K to INR 1.6 Lakhs per month) than living on-campus.
