SCET college is good for instrumentation and control.
I am also from SCET. It's facility, teaching methods are good and there is many equipment available for practical knowledge of this field. So SCET is good for instrumentation and control.

If you want to prepare for GATE then start studying your 1st year and second year electrical engineering course from now. Also focus more networks engineering and control system questions. These chapters carry more weight age in GATE. Just be thorough with your syllabus of 2nd year and 3 year. Also
