According to me, VIT-Vellore is better option for CSE. The placement for branches like CSE, IT, ECE and EEE are fairly nice. People end up getting super dream packages worth more than INR 15Lacs per annum. Placement statistics for branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Biotech aren't as great as the other above mentioned branches. But, overall the college promises 100% placement. The highest package for our seniors this time was from CSE worth INR 24 Lacs per annum

With that rank you will get electronics & instrumentation engineering in Vellore campus. Computer science specialization closing rank is 9000 and CSE core in 6000 rank. You have to take two courses of that desired branch in which you have to go and they will select first 2 or 3 out of many students for upgradation of their desired branches. Hope this helps. You must get a rank below 700 if you are not from home state and below 3500 if you are from home state itself.

Getting CSE in any of the campus is difficult but by paying additional tuition fees it can be possible but it is difficult to tell what exactly their demand. But their range is some what around 1-3 Lacs per year.

At my admission time, there was only Vellore and Chennai branch two years ago and these branches are recently opened by VIT. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000 so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well with each category admission fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank but there are 2nd category as well if you want CSE but you have to pay more for that. Bhopal and Amravati branches are opened recently so the rank to VIT university may go high as expect
