Anna University will determine the TNEA 2018 cutoff for all the candidates participating in the admission procedure during counseling. The cutoff of TNEA 2018 is the minimum marks required for admission in the participating institutes and the engineering courses offered by them. The opening marks for Food Technology is 90.75 and closing marks are 193.5.

There are plenty of colleges which offer lateral entry in India but not possible in VIT. I don't remember when there was lateral entry last time in VIT. Very similar to VIT one college SRM do offer lateral entry so you can try your luck there. There are less number of seats in SRM so you need to apply at the earliest.

If you are looking for the upper branches then your rank should be less than twenty five thousand. Basically there are two groups and different categories which indicates branch and fee structure respectively. If you are looking for main campus Vellore then your rank should not be more than 99,000. Admission through management quota is also possible under certain parameters.
