Many companies go for placements at Vellore with different scale of pay. The highest package offered in VIT this year was 16 LPA by LinkedIn. Many other companies like Flipkart, EBay, Deshaw, Cisco, InMobi and McKinsey offered package of more than 10 lacs and average salary is just about 3-4 LPA.
