There is no upper or lower age limit prescribed for TANCET counselling. Age is not considered a factor during the admission process. Similarly, while work experience may be valued by individual institutions during admission or placement, it does not influence eligibility for TANCET counselling itself.

No, appearing for the TANCET 2025 exam is mandatory for admission through the regular counselling process conducted by Anna University. Without a valid TANCET score, a candidate cannot participate in the centralized counselling. However, individual institutions may offer management quota seats which have separate eligibility norms.

Yes, candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree through distance education from a UGC or AICTE-approved institution are eligible, provided the degree is of at least three years' duration and meets the minimum aggregate marks requirement. The university must be recognized, and the mode of education should comply with Tamil Nadu's admission guidelines.

Final year students who have appeared for their final semester/year examinations and are awaiting results can apply for TANCET counselling. However, they must produce proof of qualification, such as a course completion certificate or provisional degree certificate, during the counselling process. Yes, candidates may submit a provisional degree certificate issued by their university or institution if the final certificate is not yet available. This document must clearly indicate that the candidate has successfully completed a bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration. It should be accompanied by the mark sheets showing the required aggregate percentage.

No, candidates from other states are not eligible for TANCET counselling under the regular quota, even if they have studied in Tamil Nadu. Only candidates who are native to Tamil Nadu and can produce the required Nativity Certificate are considered eligible. However, non-Tamil Nadu candidates may be eligible for admission under the management quota, depending on the college policies.

Candidates participating in the TANCET counselling must submit a Nativity Certificate issued by a competent authority such as a Tahsildar from the Government of Tamil Nadu. This certificate should confirm that the candidate or their parent/guardian is a native of Tamil Nadu. In some cases, certificates such as the Permanent Residence Certificate or Community Certificate indicating Tamil Nadu origin may be considered, but the official Nativity Certificate is preferred.

TANCET counselling is for MBA and MCA admissions, while TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admissions) counselling is conducted separately for admissions into M.E., M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Plan. programs. TANCA is also managed by Anna University but follows a different schedule and eligibility criteria. TANCET scores are accepted for both, but the counselling authority and admission process differ. Candidates must apply to the correct counselling process based on their programme of interest.
