Tbilisi State Medical University is government funded university. It is a leading medical university in Tbilisi, Georgia. It offers Bachelor's and Master's courses. Only a few courses at TSMU are offered in the English language such as MD, BPharm, Bachelor's in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, etc.

As per some unofficial sources, Tbilisi State Medical University's acceptance rate for Indian students is around 10%. This show it is very diificult to get into this university. So students who meet admission requirements and submit application on time have high chance of admission. For admission to the UG courses of this university, students should have finished Class 12. To take admission to PG courses of TSMU, a Bachelor's degree is required.

Indian students must fulfil the following requirements set by the NMC (National Medical Commission) to be eligible to practice medicine in India after pursuing a degree from abroad.
Students must clear FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) which is conducted by NMC. The exam ensures that students are capable of practicing in India.
Duration of an undergraduate programme must be atleast 54 months and one year internship.
