Successful completion of graduation, preferably in the arts stream, completed from a recognised university. A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) at the level of graduation.

Yes, you can apply for the National Eligibility Test.
Here are some of the eligibility criteria before appearing in the National Eligibility Test which you must follow:
The university and college by which you have completed Master's degree must be a recognised university by UGC or it must be UGC approved. There is no age related criteria or limit in the UGC NET exam for lectureship posts.
You must complete Masters or post graduation with at least 55 % marks (50% marks for female and reserved category candidates).

The online application process for the National Eligibility Test is over. The application has been filled up till 30th September 2018. Well, if you have done some mistakes in the application form you can do correction till 30th October 2018. The NTA UGC NET Exam is going to be held from the 9th December to 23 December.
