B.Ed makes one eligible to be a School Teacher only. You become a PGT if you have a Master Degree as well. If you are a B.A. B.Ed, you can apply for the TGT posts. B.Ed is the basic requirement and yes, private schools also ask for the same. Eligibility.

APSET 2018 Eligibility:
APSET 2018 eligibility criteria which aspirants need to fulfill in order to be eligible to appear for the entrance exam is as mentioned below:
Candidates should have secured minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Masters degree or equivalent exam from any university/college that is recognised by UGC. RIE CEE 2018 syllabus is not out yet. However, candidates can refer RIE CEE syllabus for 2017 (mentioned in the table at the link below) to perform well in the teaching entrance exam. https://www.shiksha.com/teaching-education/exams/rie-cee/syllabus.
