Yes, the PTE test centres differ largely in terms of slot availability and the frequency with which the exams are conducted. Larger centres in metro cities offer multiple daily slots (sometimes all 5 slots: from 8:00 AM to 7:15 PM), whereas tier 2 cities may have fewer slots available per week.

Yes, stress caused from travel, crowding, poor infrastructure, or technical issues at a centre may impact your concentration and hence, your PTE scores. For this and multiple other reasons, Pearson recommends that each test taker must arrive at the centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled test time.
However, if your test centre is located in another city, then you must plan your travel to the city on the day prior to your PTE exam day.

Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Cochin host 2–3 centres each. Test centres at each of these cities often also provide multiple time slots within a day for test takers' convenience.

You can book a PTE test 6 months in advance. There is no extra fee to do that. However, you an reschedule your PTE test to another available test date, if required. The cost you pay for rescheduling the PTE test depends on how many days are left for your booked slot, here's an expansion of the same:
PTE Exam Rescheduling Fee 2025 | |
---|---|
Days left to your PTE Exam | Rescheduling Fee |
More than 14 days | 00 |
Less than 14 days left | Rescheduling button unavailable. You will be charged 50% of your PTE Exam fee to cancel at this stage. |
Remember, you can reschedule a single test slot for a maximum of 6 times.

Studio Test, the NIFT B.Des programme taken at all the campuses including Hyderabad took place on June 8, 2025. It is a mandatory (off-line and practial), practial part of test conducted by B.Des candidates. Students of B.Des don't have own personal Interview. After the completion of the test and final results announcements on June 22, the admission procedure of the NIFT got transferred to counseling rounds. When planning into the next academic year (2026), the timing should be the same (the written exams - CAT and GAT, are in February and Studio Test will probably take place in June).
