Tohoku University

Tohoku University was founded in 1907 and is known to be a public research university located in Sandai,  Miyagi,  Japan. The university has multiple campuses in Sandai and is the third national university in Japan. Some of the reasons why Tohoku University is good for international students are given as follows:

• Tohoku University is known to be ranked as one of the top universities in Japan and worldwide. It is also the third national university established in Sandai, Japan. 
• As of 2022 data, Tohoku University has more than 17,000 students who have enrolled which includes over 10,000 undergraduate and more than 4,000 graduate students on campus. This also includes 1,732 international students. 
• It has 4 principal campuses located in Sandai City named as Katahira, Kawauchi, Seiryo and Aobayama. Amamiya campus and some institutes have transferred to the new extension at Aobayama campus in April 2017.
