Tour company/agent: many people open their very own tour agency to help people plan their travel to new locations. This offers good money as they have a lot of commission and packages through which they earn. It is the contacts and the manual efforts that they earn for and the investment is limited.
Tour guide: Having great knowledge of your homeland does pay off at one point if you decide to use it as a tour guide. Heritage sites and local markets these are all very preferred places of visit for tourist and they are willing to pay well for trustworthy professional who can guide them to a better experience
Travel writer: You have the chance to record every moment that you experience in your travel and share it with the world through travel blogs, journal, etc.Travel writers are highly paid as they have set goals to explore the Unexplored areas of the world and promote such locations.

In the tourism department, there are jobs at the reservation & counter staff, sales and marketing staff, tour planners and tour guides. Officers in the Directorate and Departments of Tourism are recruited from among the candidates who have done civil service, drawn from the civil/administrative services of the State and Central governments. They are involved in the planning and promotion of tourism activities. A degree in travel and tourism is required for operational jobs in government organisations. Information assistants at the office of the tourism departments are selected through competitive examinations held by the Staff Selection Commission. Admission Process:
Register and Apply: Interested candidates can apply online or offline with the required information.
Group Discussion: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion based on score marks obtained in CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ GMAT.
Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview based on performance in Group Discussion.
Final Selection: Candidates are selected based on CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ GMAT score and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Weightage given to above-mentioned parameters is as follows:
CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/GMAT score - 70%
Group Discussion - 15%
Personal Interview - 15%
