Yes, you can definitely try the UGC NET in Environmental Science if you hold a Master's degree in Botany. The UGC NET eligibility criteria also include that such applicants holding their Master's degrees in subjects allied to Environmental Science are acceptable too. Botany falls in that category as an allied subject. Thus, you can take up Environmental Science as your UGC NET subject.

Except this, ensure you meet all other eligibility criteria

1. Marks: 55% aggregate at Master's degree level; for reserved categories it is 50%.

2. Age

Since there is no separate Statistics paper in the UGC NET exam, you can choose Mathematical Sciences (Code 88). This subject includes topics from statistics, mathematics, and operations research, making it the best fit for your background.

Hey

As you have completed your M.Tech degree in computer engineering, the ideal subject for the UGC net exam that I would personally suggesting you will be computer Science and applications (subject code: 87). This aligns perfectly with your educational background and expertise. Selecting a specific area of expertise in your field of study enhances your prospects of success and simplifies the process of exam preparation.

You can chose other option as well. Research well and decide.
