No, late scholarship applications are generally not accepted at the Uni of Auckland. Once the deadline passes, the application form locks.

However, students who missed deadline due to exceptional circumstances can contact the Scholarships Office via email and seek relaxation.

Yes, Indian students can defer their entry at the University of Auckland before the programme starts by following the below steps:

  • Log in to your Application Study Dashboard
  • Click the defer application link next to the active programme choice
  • Select the preferred future academic term
  • Delete any course enrollments manually if you already enrolled before the semester starts

Indian students can expect an admission decision within 4 weeks of submitting a completed application to Uni Auckland. During peaks processing periods (Sep to Feb for Semester One, and, May to Jul for Semester Two), it may take longer.

The University of Auckland does not offer a general housing guarantee for Indian students. However, housing as part of a university-managed residences is guaranteed for incoming Study Abroad and Exchange students who apply before the priority deadline.

Students with an admission offer in hand can apply for on-campus housing via the official Accommodation Application portal to submit their housing choice online.

No, the Uni of Auckland does not serve Indian food on campus. However, there are plenty of authentic and budget-friendly Indian food options nearby, just a short walk away (5 to 15 minute) from the campus. 

  • Indian Bites - Gulab Jamun, Ice Cream, Mango Kulfi, and Gajar Halwa
  • Choolaah Indian Society - Plain Idli, Mini Idli, Masala Parantha, and Chole Bhature
  • Hobson Indian Takeaway - Paneer Parantha, Curries, Rice, and Roti, and Butter Chicken

Yes, the University of Auckland is among the top universities in New Zealand that accept Indian students with backlogs, provided they are cleared before enrollment and the overall academic profile is strong.

The university accepts students with up to no more than 5 backlogs.

Scholarship deadlines at the Uni of Auckland vary for different scholarships and intakes. For the University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship, the last date to apply is Oct 21, 2026 (for the Feb/Semester 1 intake). 

The scholarship offers up to NZD 20,000 (INR 11.3 Lakhs) as tuition fees discounts to eligible Indina students enrolling in UG degrees, PG degrees, or PG Diplomas.

Yes, credit transfers are allowed at the Uni of Auckland (UoA). To do that, they need a formal application for External Transfer of Credit (AS-14 form). 

Credits are generally allowed for up to one-third of the total points required for UG Stage I and Stage II courses. Stage III and PG course transfers are strictly assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, students can apply for a course change at the Uni of Auckland by following the steps mentioned below:

  • apply for admission to the new programme
  • withdraw from the current programme by visiting the Student Hubs and accept an offer of place for the new programme
  • delete the course enrolments made prior to accepting the admission offer in the new programme

Compulsory Student Services Fee (CSSF) at Uni Auckland is charged at NZD 9.44 (INR 520) per credit point. For a standard full-time load (120 points) it costs around NZD 1,320.9 (INR 72.9 K).

And yes, Indian students are required to pay the same, as all other domestic and international students.
