Overt, aggressive racism towards Indian students is relatively rare at the Uni of Auckland campus. The university receives 4.5 stars out of 5 for student safety as part of Auckland University student reviews on Shiksha Study Abroad.

The University of Auckland is generally considered the better option for Computer Science in New Zealand than AUT University for the reasons mentioned below:
- Better global reputation (#176 in the world for PG Computer Science, compared to AUT University's #601)
- Uses a more deep academic teaching approach with studies of advanced algos, data structures, and computational theory
- Bigger lecture halls and independent studies
- Better chances of getting a research grant

Uni of Auckland is better for Indian students interested in a more reputed global education and research-led programs in areas like Medicine, Law, Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science.
AUT University is better for students interested in a more applied, practical, and industry-aligned programs with smaller class sizes. AUT is considered better for programs in Communications, Business, Hospitality, and Design.

Along with Letter of Recommendations, statement of purpose, CV, Bachelor's Degree, it is also important to add English Proficiency Test scores to get an admission at University of Auckland. These are the minimum score requirement English Proficiency test (TOEFL iBT-90, IELTS-6.5, PTE Academic-58).

No, GRE/GMAT score are generally not required for most of the MS Courses but the English Proficiency test scores are a must have for the entry requirement and selection criteria. The students applying for MS courses at University of Auckland must also have at least a 5.0 GPE at a 9.0 Grade Scale.
