The University of Galway ranks at #555 in 2024-25 in the U.S. News & World Report rankings. In the previous year's rankings, this university ranked at #551. This shows that there has been a slight decline in Galway University's ranking in U.S. News & World Report in 2025. For the Global Universities category rankings, a few of the factors on which the universities are evaluated are Global Research Reputation, Publications, Normalized Citation Impact, Regional Research Reputation, etc.

The University of Galway is ranked within the Top 100 Universities in Europe for the second year in a row. This is as per QS World Rankings for Europe 2025. Galway University is ranked at #98 in Europe out of 680+ universities included in this year's rankings.

So, in the QS rankings, there has been an improvement in the rankings of this university. The QS rankings of this university specify that Galway University ranks among the Top 300 Universities in the World for 2025.
