Yes, if an average Indian student fulfills the criteria, he or she is liable to join the University of Glasgow. In fact, the university accepts a lot of qualifications, including Indian Higher Secondary Certificate (12th grade). Programs that are highly competitive, such as engineering or medicine, would take higher entry requirements, but on the other hand, for other programs, students with average performance would still probably stand a chance, provided they pass the entry minimum qualifications. You can find a part-time job while studying at the University of Glasgow, but that is subject to the job market and your personal circumstances. For example, as an international student, you can work 20 hours a week during term periods and full-time during breaks. The university has various job opportunities through its services such as positions within campus facilities, libraries, or student unions. With a ranking of 87th in the 2025 World University Rankings it is well known throughout the world and continues to hold a solid reputation in particular subjects like law (43rd) and clinical and health sciences (53rd). It may be difficult for first-year international students to get scholarships at the University of Glasgow because of its moderately low acceptance rate. Glasgow University acceptance rate is around 22% as per unofficial sources, which makes admission moderately competitive. Hence, it is hard to get a full scholarship for a Bachelor's degree at Glasgow.
