The University of Luxembourg acceptance rate stands at 21%, stating that out of every 100 applicants, only 21 are given chance to audit their courses. This rate makes it an ambitious school to get into, but by strategically planning your application, a student can be successful in getting a chance to pursue their higher studies at this university.

These are the requirements for receiving the offer letter from the University of Luxembourg:

For Undergraduate degree:

·         GPA of 3.0 or higher from High School in relevant subjects

·         Letter of Recommendation

·         Statement of Purpose

·         English Proficiency test(IELTS/TOEFL)

For Postgraduate degree:

·         A Bachelor’s degree with 180 ECTS (Official transcripts will be required)

·         Letter of Recommendation

·         Statement of Purpose

·         English Proficiency test(IELTS/TOEFL)

University of Luxembourg offers generous scholarships for their international students, which requires a separate scholarship application. In order to receive such financial aid, overseas applicants must first apply for a Master's degree, followed by a scholarship application within Feb 1 –  April 30, 2026, as per the choice of scholarship. Also, candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements listed below:

• Curriculum Vitae  (CV);
• Motivation letter
• Two letters of academic recommendation with contact details;
• A copy of the email received by the University of Luxembourg confirming the successful submission of master's application.

When an international candidate submits the online applications for the University of Luxembourg admissions, their application is reviewed for an initial inspection by the Student Department, to check whether the applicant has completed the application and fulfilled the eligibility requirements. Based on the above mentioned, an admission decision is taken. Depending on the decision of the selection committee, the Student Department will inform the candidate of their admission status, whether

• they have been admitted to the University;
• they have been offered a conditional place at the University;
• their application has been placed on the waiting list;
• their application has been rejected.

If the candidate is selected, they will be asked to pay the enrolment fee. Payment of this enrolment fee confirms the student's registration.

All international student need to fulfill the University of Luxembourg doument requirements while applying to the university.

1) Undergraduate Document Requirements:

• An identity photo;
• Copy of identity card or passport;
• Copy of health insurance certificate for the current month;
• Copy of secondary school leaving certificate;
• Copy of results obtained in previous semesters; and
• Proof of English language proficiency.

2) Graduate Document Requirements:

• An identity photo;
• Copy of identity card or passport;
• Copy of health insurance certificate for the current month;
• Copy of university degree certificate;
• Detailed transcript of all the grades obtained during Bachelor’s degree; and
• Proof of English language proficiency.
