Just focus on your studies from 2nd year, and after 3rd year you can join coaching for GATE preparation, specially focus on discrete maths, data structures and computer organization and architectures. (COA). And, perform well in GATE.

If you are from UP, then there is no state rank for you. State rank is given to those students who are from outside up and appeared in UPSEE examination. (you will get only your category/subcategory rank).
