In USA you have more nursing schools. Both the countries are very competitive and you must clear licensing exams to practice. Narrow down your choice by the expenses, budget, university requirements, entrance exams, climate, etc.

You must contact the universities directly for Ph.D admissions. Universities in UK generally do not offer funding or scholarships for Ph.D. You can try for universities in US and other countries. It is hard to suggest a name as Ph.D admissions are a different league altogether. Refer to a few websites like QS and check the top university websites if they are offering research opportunities in Life Sciences/related areas. Write to the department head or whatsoever for the process and funding options.
