No, to get admission into VIT Chennai MBA candidates have to either appear for entrance exams, such as CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT and ATMA. Candidates need to have completed their graduation with a minimum 60% aggregate.
Admission into the MBA at VIT Chennai takes place through personal interviews conducted as part of the selection process. Hence, there are no direct admissions into VIT Chennai and all admissions in the MBA programme take place through a series of selection rounds.

Yes, electives are introduced in the third and fourth semesters of the course. There are eight elective subjects a student has to choose in the last two semesters to complete the credits necessary for the course. Each group of electives gives eight credits.
Students of the MBA programme can use the electives to curate a master’s programme for them as they see fit and according to their goals. The electives give the students a chance to build their portfolio while studying at the university.

Yes, VIT Chennai MBA admissions are merit-based but they are not done based on merit secured in the entrance exams and graduation. The entrance exam and graduation score allow candidates to be selected for the Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
A merit list is then released of candidates clearing the PI round, it is according to this merit that provisional admissions into VIT Chennai MBA take place. Therefore, candidates will have to clear multiple rounds to finalise their admission into the programme.

Candidates who want to apply for an MBA at VIT Chennai should appear for these exams and apply for admission to the university.
