Yes, VIT Chennai MBA admissions are merit-based but they are not done based on merit secured in the entrance exams and graduation. The entrance exam and graduation score allow candidates to be selected for the Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

A merit list is then released of candidates clearing the PI round, it is according to this merit that provisional admissions into VIT Chennai MBA take place. Therefore, candidates will have to clear multiple rounds to finalise their admission into the programme.

VIT Chennai MBA admissions take place through CAT/ XAT/ MAT entrance scores. Candidates can have the choice to take the VITBEE entrance exam instead. Candidates who want to apply for an MBA at VIT Chennai should appear for these exams and apply for admission to the university. VIT Chennai shortlists candidates based on CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/MAT/ entrance scores. Candidates who want to apply for an MBA at VIT Chennai should appear for these exams and apply for admission to the university. Only candidates who have a valid CAT/ XAT/ MAT entrance score are eligible to apply for an MBA.

The scores for the entrance exam are only used for shortlisting of candidates. The admission into the programme takes place through a personal interview, after the shortlisting of candidates. NMAT registration for MBA admissions in VIT Chennai has started, the registrations opened on Aug 1, 2024, and will go on till Oct 20, 2024. Along with NMAT and XAT; CAT registration is also open for 2025 and candidates can apply for them to secure admission to an MBA at VIT Chennai.

Candidates can apply for MBA admissions through the CAT/XAT/ GMAT/ NMAT or MAT entrance exam. Registration for XAT and NMAT are open while CAT registrations are closed for the admission cycle 2024.

A pass in 10+2 with an overall aggregate of 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects and valid NATA score.He/She must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam. However, the minimum percentage marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states is 50%.
