Established in 2017, VIT-AP is a private research university under the VIT network of Institutions. Yes, VIT Vellore has collaborated with some domestic and international universities. Yes, VIT Vellore is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an 'A+' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It was established in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted approval to VIT Vellore to conduct various undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic year 2022-23. The university offers a diverse range of courses, including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Ph.D., B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc, M.Sc, BCA, BCom, MCA, and MDes.

There are 160 seats for Vellore campus, 60 seats for Chennai and 210 seats for Bhopal campus. If your VITMEE rank is under 250 there are chances that you will get Vellore campus.
