The MAT exam is conducted by the AIMA. It is conducted for admission to MBA in most colleges all over India, not only for the VIVA Institute of Management and Research. The exam is conducted thrice a year in PBT and CBT modes. The results for the exam are usually released within a month after the exam.

The VIVA Institute of Management and Research (VIVA IMR) has different admission requirements for each category and entrance exam, but in general, applicants must have competitive scores to be admitted. The closing percentile for the MAH MBA CET 2024 varied from roughly 12 to 59 for different categories, while the general category cutoffs were approximately 50 percentile in previous rounds. Reserved categories had lower cutoff marks for MAT scores, while general categories had cutoffs that were approximately between 22 and 49.
