Normally no state is allowing lateral admission in 2nd year to a student from another state. From another angle, NIT's are refusing to accept diploma as equivalent to 12th even if IIT's are accepting. Your best bet is to do Graduation from WB only.

Though the college is not so much remarkable and up to the mark when it comes to infrastructure but is improving itself and hence can be considered as okay.
Now, coming to the placement stats, the average placement from here is around 3 to 4 lakh and highest package offered is from Microsoft which is around 16 lakhs.
Although, the above placement data is from CSE, ECE, IT, etc.

Students from Applied Electronics and Instrumentation (AEI) branch also get placements in these IT companies. But the core companies for AEI that visit the campus are very few. If we talk about the faculty members here, they are quite good. Some are Ph.D

As compared to other colleges of West Bengal, the scenario is much better(except 1 or 2 other private colleges). You would get a chance to appear in mass IT recruiter companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro. Recently from last 2 years, Tech-Mahindra is also visiting.The average placement from all the branches combined is approximately 200-250. In West Bengal there many top ranking government engineering colleges including IITs and NITs.
The following are the top colleges in West Bengal under the government ownership:
1) IIT Kharagpur:
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP) is a public engineering institution established by the government of India. Ranked at the 3rd position by NIRF, IIT Kharagpur has great infrastructure and offers huge placements. It has produced many alumni like Sundar Pichai, Vinod Gupta, etc.

West Bengal appears to be the only state not insisting on domicile certificate for taking WBJEE. The official announcement has been made and full information is available on its website. However for benefit of students I will state few important facts.The WBJEE will be conducted n 22 Apr 2018. It will be in Pen and Paper mode only. There will be two papers.
