Heritage Institute of Technology situated in Kolkata is a private institute taking the students for engineering stream.
Though the college is not so much remarkable and up to the mark when it comes to infrastructure but is improving itself and hence can be considered as okay.
Now, coming to the placement stats, the average placement from here is around 3 to 4 lakh and highest package offered is from Microsoft which is around 16 lakhs.
Although, the above placement data is from CSE, ECE, IT, etc.
Also, frankly speaking, the college do not have a good placement record other than these three branch though, many IT based companies visit for mass recruitment such as TCS, Infosys as well as Wipro.
Also, the faculty members are good, but not up to the level to meet the requirements of industry as well as modern world.
So, in all, the college is good for the core branches only, and should not, be preferred for distance education. Although, students from West Bengal can have it as their last option but for the three mentioned branches.

Talking about the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in Heritage Institute of Technology, the total students in this branch are about 60. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS ), Wipro, Infosys, etc., recruit students and that too in mass. The average placement is 3.75-4.00 LPA. Some CS students get placements for 8-10 LPA as well. One got a package of 22 LPA last year.
Students from Applied Electronics and Instrumentation (AEI) branch also get placements in these IT companies. But the core companies for AEI that visit the campus are very few. If we talk about the faculty members here, they are quite good. Some are Ph.D holders and some have the experience of more than 18 years.
To get placed in core companies, the students too need to work hard. Since, HITK is a private college, it is obvious that not many companies will visit. Apart from this, students also go for higher studies. A lot of students prepare for GATE. Some go for civil services. Some look up for IES (Indian Engineering Services).

As compared to other colleges of West Bengal, the scenario is much better(except 1 or 2 other private colleges). You would get a chance to appear in mass IT recruiter companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro. Recently from last 2 years, Tech-Mahindra is also visiting.The average placement from all the branches combined is approximately 200-250. Apart from that, you would get opportunities for pool campusing. While most of them, like Cognizant Technology Solutions, Accentual and Wipro, are well-known multinationals with offices in various parts of the world, local offices of industrial giants like Haldia Petrochemicals Limited and Indian Oil Corporation also recruit HIT students into their ranks.
Overall you can say it's placement ratio is average.College administration has to work a lot to increase the placement so as to maintain the name of HIT. Freshers enrolling in this college have a lot of faith that they would be placed from here but the things are not like that. Really you have to work hard and have to be smart too to get campus placement because the opportunities are less.

West Bengal appears to be the only state not insisting on domicile certificate for taking WBJEE. The official announcement has been made and full information is available on its website. However for benefit of students I will state few important facts.The WBJEE will be conducted n 22 Apr 2018. It will be in Pen and Paper mode only. There will be two papers. One for maths and other for Chemistry + Physics. Both papers will be two hours duration. Any citizen of India can appear. He/she should be of minimum age of 17 years. There is no upper limit. Exam will be conducted in 44 cities spread across West Bengal, Assam and Tripura. If one sees this, it's clear that student outside West Bengal can surely appear and get admission in any of the 104 participating institutions across West Bengal.To conclude, I will say that any Indian citizen of 17 years or more can appear for this exam of course with restrictions of marks for general and reserve category students of 45% and 40% respectively along with need to score at least 30% in English.
