Yale Uni acceptance rate for the class of 2029 is around 4.6% meaning that of every 100 students who apply to the university only 4-5 students are likely to receive the opportunity to enroll themselves at the Yale University campus making the admission criteria of the uni extremely selective.

Thus it can be concluded that Yale University is indeed hard to get into.

Yale University follows a test-flexible policy for the submission of SAT / ACT scores. However, for the Class of 2029, students were required to submit SAT/ACT scores. Students can submit the same if they wish to. However, it was reported in Fall of 2025 that students have to submit ACT / SAT scores. The university follows a holistic admission process, so all of the components of the application are considered for admission such as:

  • Academic performance
  • Essays
  • Extracurricular achievements
  • Recommendations
  • English language proficiency score
