As per the US News Rankings 2026, Yale University has earned top positions under various categories such as National Universities, Best Value Schools, Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs, etc. If we compare the 'National Universities Rankings',
Yale University ranks #4 in 2026 and showed a stable trend with the same rank in 2025.

In the 2025 Shanghai or ARWU rankings for 2025, Yale Uni ranks at #11. Also, in the Global University rankings by U.S. News, this university ranks at #9. The world rankings mention that Yale ranks among the Top 25 Universities in the world.

Based on the data from the official institute website, the acceptance rate at the medical school is around 5.5%. This is one of the lowest acceptance rates among medical schools in the US & worldwide.
Candidates interested in pursuing medical studies must secure excellent grades in school level academics as well as entrance level exams to have a chance of securing admission at Yale School of Medicine.

The university has a low acceptance rate among the universities in the USA for medical courses, and shows how selective it is in admitting students in this particular course.

Well, considering it sits alongside the best US universities, it does not come as a surprise, that the university does not have a very high rate of accepting students. Its acceptance rate is 27%. Even though its low, as an Indian student, you still have a genuine chance of admission, assuming you meet the basic eligibility requirements of the university.
