Yes, you can get admission to B.Tech at LPU, but it is not considered “direct admission” in the traditional sense, as you still need to meet eligibility criteria and qualify through LPUNEST or JEE Main. LPU does not take any donation or capitation fee, and admissions are purely merit-based. Generally, you need around 60% in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English, along with qualifying the entrance exam. With your current score, you may need to appear for LPUNEST and perform well to secure admission. The university may also offer some flexibility or alternative options depending on the admission cycle. Scholarships are availabl

Yes, it is absolutely possible. In India, there is no upper age limit for pursuing an M.E./M.Tech. Your experience is actually a major advantage for specialized research and leadership roles.

What you can do:

  • Entrance Exams: Appear for GATE (No age limit) to get into IITs/NITs, or state exams like TANCET (for Tamil Nadu).

  • Study Mode: * Part-Time M.E.: Many state universities offer 3-year programs for working professionals.

    • Sponsored Seats: If employed, apply through the "Sponsored" category in top institutes.

  • Direct Admission: Several private universities offer admission based on your B.E. marks and an interview.

Why do it at 40?

Yes, you can totally do B.Tech Food Tech as a PCB student! You don't necessarily need Math for all colleges

Look into NIFTEM (Kundli/Thanjavur)—those are the top government spots. Also, make sure to give the CUET (ICAR) exam, as that's the main way PCB students get into government food tech programs

You might have to take a basic 'remedial math' class in the first year, but after that, it's all about food Science and biology

To be honest, one of my close friends struggled a lot in the first year.

Yes, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology does offer AI/ML-oriented options within its B.Tech programs, mainly through Computer Science–related branches where students can choose subjects and specialisations aligned with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

To be eligible, a student must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics, and admissions are generally done through JEE Main ranks followed by counselling.
The fee structure depends on the chosen branch and academic year, but it is usually in the range of ₹4–5 Lacs per year, apart from hostel and other charges.

Yes, submitting a valid ACT or SAT score will now become mandatory from the 2027-28 session. Students interested in Fall 2028 admissions, will have to submit either of the two scores. It was stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the university has now decided to introduce this policy again.

The university, in its recent findings, discovered that students who did submit SAT or ACT scores, did much better in their studies on campus, than those who didn't.
