After completing M.Sc in dietetics and food services, specifically in the government sector, you could consider working in the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Child and Women Welfare to name a few options. Most of these government departments post their job requirements on their websites and through the national dailies. We would recommend that once your course is completed, you search through the websites of these departments for the opportunities available at that point in time and apply for the same accordingly. Your selection, of course, will depend upon how you perform in the selection process. Other than the government departments, you could also consider working with food manufacturers, drug and healthcare companies, hospitals, freezing plants, breweries, as a lecturer, medical centres and restaurant chains, etc. The minimum eligibility for any PG level course is graduation. Some additional eligibility criteria include: B.Sc (Hom Science) with specialization in Foods and Nutrition, PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition (PDPHN) or its equivalent, a graduate or an equivalent course from the backgrounds like science, healthcare, medical, pharmaceutical and catering along with either the Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education Degree (DNHE), Certificate in Nutrition and Child Care (CNCC) or Certificate in Foods and Nutrition offered by IGNOU.
